Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is fortunate to receive vital funds through our recycling partner Bag It Up.   Textiles of all kinds can be donated in our yellow banks all over the county.  One of the textile donations which brings in the most for us are bras, which have three times the value of other textiles.

By searching out your unwanted bras and donating them to the appeal, you would be supporting not only HIOWAA, but also women in West Africa, where most of the donated bras are sent.  This allows local West African women the opportunity to buy and wear bras which can help them in many ways, including increasing their self esteem.

How can you get involved?  Tomorrow, 27th May,  is Bag a Bra Day.  We can use all your unwanted bras, so please just bag them up, preferably in one of our pink Bag a Bra plastic bags, but just a supermarket bag will do, and put them into one of our yellow recycling banks. Please call our head office on 02380 333377 for the location of your nearest bank.

Thanks for your support!

June.
