The Villages of Brockenhurst will be opening their gardens for public view on Sunday 20th June, from 10.00am to 5.00pm. They wanted to show their support whilst raising funds for the Air Ambulance and thought this would be a wonderful way to do it.  Set in the beautiful New Forest and at the start of a colourful time of year, I am sure there will many wonderful and interesting plants, bushes and much more to see. Might even give you some inspiration for your own garden.

To gain entry into these gardens a programme can be bought in the village from local shops (see the poster below), or on the day from St Saviour’s church hall for £5.00.  Other than expenses for the day, all proceeds will be donated to the charity.  As well as the programmes for sale in the hall they have organised afternoon teas, along with a live Jazz band to get your toes tapping.  Brockenhurst Football club will be holding a lunchtime BBQ using produce from the local butcher. Plants and more will be available for sale in the village hall, with I'm sure some helpful advice to make sure you can bring out the best in your purchase.

They plan to have a mini bus taking a regular route around the gardens, giving you a chance to park and ride or you can take a nice walk to some or all of the gardens.

Setley Ridge Garden centre will be open and will also be holding wine tasting sessions during the day with some gorgeous wines from their own vineyard.

HIOWATHA (the Air Ambulance) has been requested to be there for the day and will be based in the football ground, but obviously leaving when necessary if called to an emergency. This is a great chance to come along and take a look at the aircraft which provides this vital service. As well as the pilot, the medical crew will be present to show you round and answer any questions you may have. Along with a team of some of our wonderful volunteers, I will also be present throughout the day. We will have merchandise for sale, as well as all the information you will need to find out more about how you can carry on supporting this vital service. I look forward to seeing you there.
